12/2/2013 · Noticed that when I turn the key, the ASD relay buzzes/clicks very fast for the 1-2 seconds that the fuel pump is supposed to prime. Testing (not sure what is relevant here) 12V from 86 to 85 during the 1-2 second prime 12V from 30 to 87 (when I jump these pins the Jeep starts with no problem), 5/24/2016 · The ASD relay was buzzing constantly. Played with it a bit now it goes in and out every few seconds. the fuel pump and fan clutch are also buzzing and clicking at the same time. I had the SKIM programming taken out of the ECM because the key light was on.
2/3/2005 · I open the power dist box and the asd relay is making the noise. Also the fuel pump in the tank was buzzing but not as loud. I pulled the relay apart and noticed that it was working the relay very fast making the buzzing sound. When i manually pushed the relay switch in and had some one start it the Jeep fired up but a check engine light was on.

The asd relay is buzzing non stop with the key on. I checked every fuse and they checked out good, switched relays and the same buzzing continued. I read other forums about the relay buzzing but no conclusions have been made.
4/29/2010 · Jeep ran fine, I took it for a ride(it was raining, if it makes a difference) and still ran fine. Next day I try to drive it and I get a No Bus where the odometer usually is, and the ASD relay is making a crazy Buzzzing. Thought it was the relay , but my relay works elsewheres, and any relay .
5/18/2011 · A 12 volt signal at this input indicated to the PCM that the ASD has been activated. This input is used only to sense that the ASD relay is energized. When energized, the ASD relay supplies battery voltage to the fuel injectors, ignition coils, and the heating element in each oxygen sensor. If the PCM does not receive 12 volts from this input after grounding the ASD reley, it sets a Diagnostic Trouble.
5/1/2017 · Having trouble diagnosing problem with ASD relay on 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4.7. Have determined that relay will stop buzzing when I pull fuse 26 from the PDC. This controls the injectors. Have power at all points on relay that I should when key in on position. Have checked all grounding points and replaced PCM with a remanufactured one.
11/25/2015 · The ASD relay is also buzzing the whole time the key is on, I replaced it with a different relay that was the same and the buzzing was still there. I also checked the ASD fuse and it wasn’t blown. Does anyone know of anything else to check? I have 5V going to the Crank position, Cam position and MAP sensor. However there is not 12V going to the coil.
2/20/2010 · If you want to test the relay , unplug it and apply +12V (thru a fuse) to pins (4 & 8) of the relay that had the red/black wires on it’s connector pin. Then apply ground to pin 6 (blue/green wire on it’s connector) and the relay should stay activated (click once and not buzz) as long as the ground is applied.
