1/23/2020 · Chances are you may come across an issue with your Ubiquiti UniFi configuration. If you’re making changes to your network/UniFi controller, then you may come across an error saying that UniFi adoption failed. This is mostly due to changes made(e.g. changing IP subnet) which prevents your UniFi device(s) from phoning home to the controller.
10/4/2020 · Upon upgrading, I noticed that two of my UniFi devices are disconnecting at seemingly random times. They subsequently displayed “Disconnected”, “Adopting”, or “Adoption Failed.” This guide is specifically for controller version 6.0.23, but should work with other controllers to fix the issue of UniFi devices disconnecting.

8/8/2016 · If your ubiquiti unifi Ap fails go to the back and press the reset button for 10 seconds. Let it go wait for about a minute and adopt again.
A common issue is that the controller and the target device don’t share the same network. During adoption , the controller will attempt to establish a direct connection to the device, this may fail. Connecting to the device via SSH and checking /var/log/messages can also be very helpful. Also, avoid using the root account for anything. Especially device authentication.
