Take a blowback AR-15 upper, mate it with an FN P90 magazine and you get this very curious contraption bridging the gap between .22 Magnum carbines and .223 AR-15 rifles. Contrary to the oft-posted claim, 5.7×28 isn’t quite identical to .22 WMR in ballistic performance.
4/24/2020 · The PS90 performs well with FN factory ammo and is quite accurate. It’s more than enough accuracy to engage targets from 0-200 yards, and with a better optic, I feel I could have performed better during this test. Note that my zero is off a bit, and I neglected to bring the tool with me to adjust the optic.
12/9/2009 · It replaces the upper receiver and barrel, then using the magazine well to expel the spent casings. Somewhat pricey (saw one at Cheaper Than Dirt for $799 during the summer), yet an interesting conversion if you already have an AR-15 or two and don’t wish to shell out the money for a new PS90 .
1/14/2017 · The 5.7x28mm rounds in the PS90 impart much less heat than the 223 rounds in the Mini-14 or the Galil. In fact, I could probably fry bacon on a Mini-14 barrel after 60 rounds. The PS90 stays cool, and the shot placement stays consistent.
9/13/2006 · They are a very big FN dealer and get large inventories of their products. To give you an idea, they just got 76 black PS90 ‘s in. I got my FS2000 from them about a month ago for $1899. They sell ammo there for $20/box. Everyone on the FN forums is going to them for their FS2000’s and PS90 ‘s. You can also get ammo from www.cmmginc.com.
